Earl's Wife from Virginia I'm grateful for: My Mother Who Has Alzheimer's Disease
| I am grateful to my Mother for the skills she is teaching me as she struggles with her Alzheimer's Disease. Her challenges make me more patient, make me listen, make me try to find ways to comfort her confusion and fears. On other days, I am delighted by her flashes of humor that remind me of the Mother I have known all my life. She is fiesty and brave and I love her. As her life draws to a close, I learn daily and am gratful for the gift. |
